XXII. ISBIS, International Symposium on Business Information Science
“Beyond the Hype – What Really Works in the Digital Economy?”
November 6–7, 2026, Budapest, Milton Friedman University
The Scientific and Educational Forum on Business Information Systems (SEFBIS) is a Special Interest Group (SIG) of the John von Neumann Computer Society (JvN CS or NJSzT), that mission is to research and disseminate this knowledge of all business-related ICT developments to the professionals and also to the users. Besides, that the organization has been holding together the domestic and foreign specialists from the field of the ICT in business, it is specially committed in supporting teachers and students studying economy, developing business information systems, ICT technology and related topics.
The conference series began in 2003 at Széchenyi István University in Győr. It was held there in the early years, but starting in 2014, the event became a traveling conference, with a different university hosting it each year. In 2026, Milton Friedman University will once again host the conference—for the second time—providing participants with an opportunity to gain insight into the latest trends, research, and applications in economic informatics and artificial intelligence.
The Program Committee has suggested the following topics, but speakers may also submit proposals based on their own research in addition to the topics listed below:
- Artificial Intelligence in Business (Beyond the Hype) – Enterprise Adoption of Generative AI (governance, ROI, risks), AI + Decision Support (the next generation of executive dashboards), AI Regulation and Compliance (EU AI Act, ethics)
- Cybersecurity and Digital Resilience - Practical implementation of NIS2, Zero Trust architectures, Supply chain security
- Data Economy and Data-Driven Enterprises - Data governance and data mesh, Monetization of data assets, BI-Augmented analytics-Decision intelligence
- Digital finance and fintech - Open banking/Open finance, Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), Business applications of blockchain
- The future of ERP and enterprise systems - Cloud ERP and SaaS models, Hyperautomation (RPA + AI), Legacy system replacement
- Sustainability and IT (Green IT / ESG) - Measuring the IT carbon footprint, ESG reporting systems, Sustainable digital transformation
- Platform economy and digital ecosystems - API economy, Digital platform strategies, Marketplace models
- The future of work and digital organizations - The impact of AI on the labor market, Digital competencies, Hybrid organizational models
- Smart Cities and Government Digitalization - E-government, Digital government and data sharing, Urban data platforms
- Quantum Technology and the Future of IT - Business implications of quantum computing, Post-quantum cryptography
Important note:
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Abstracts: describing the summarized goal of the presentation, results, solutions in maximum 4000 characters (The presentation at the conference must be delivered in the language of the abstract)

- Full papers: describing the scientific result, developments, problems and solutions of your work in details in 8-10 A4 pages, together with references the authors have used.
- Posters: presenting the results of the topic in visualized form
- The Program Committee will decide on the acceptance of abstracts and their assignment to sessions.

Important dates:
- September 30, 2026 – Deadline for registration and abstract submission; no further applications to present a paper will be accepted!
- October 15, 2026 – notification to authors regarding presentation acceptance
- November 6–7, 2026: Conference; Budapest, Milton Friedman University (1039, Kelta u. 2.)
Fees: Registration fee includes the organization costs of participating on OGIK'2026 conference, welcome dinner, coffee breaks, buffet lunch, cost of editing, publishing and any statutory contributions related to the conference:
- Business sector: 55,000 HUF/160 EUR
- Educators, researchers: 45,000 HUF/ 130 EUR
- Students / PhD students, retirees: 25,000 HUF/ 75 EUR*
* To qualify for this registration fee, applicants must provide proof of their student, PhD student, or retiree status!
